On September 11, at the 2025 Jiangsu Industry-University-Research Cooperation Matchmaking Conference, Wu Wensheng, Director of the Great Wall Enterprise Strategy Institute (GEI), officially released the list of "2025 Sci-Tech Future Star" companies. The announcement highlighted new phenomena and trends in the development of China's leading technology startups. This marks the first time GEI has introduced and released this new corporate category, drawing on years of experience in researching high-growth companies such as "Gazelles" and "Unicorns" to extend their discovery and cultivation chain to earlier stages.
Collaborating with nearly 100 leading domestic technology investment and incubation institutions, GEI selected 80 companies as "2025 Sci-Tech Future Stars" following a rigorous expert review. Shaanxi HydroTransformer Technology Co., Ltd. successfully made the list, becoming one of only two companies from Northwest China to be selected.

Sci-Tech Future Stars are technology startups that possess frontier and disruptive innovation capabilities. Even in their early stages, they demonstrate significant technical leadership, commercialization potential, and high-value prospects.
Explorers of Frontier Technology and Disruptive Innovation: They represent a new force in achieving high-level self-reliance in science and technology. Focusing on strategic national fields such as commercial aerospace and brain-computer interfaces, they break through core technologies, achieve import substitution, and strengthen the foundation of independent innovation.
Pioneers of New Tracks and Future Industries: They serve as new engines driving the integration of technological innovation and industrial development. By breaking traditional industrial boundaries, they enter cutting-edge fields like embodied AI, implantable/interventional medical devices, commercial satellites, and synthetic biology, creating new applications and industrial spaces.
The Next Generation of Innovative Leaders: Although in their early development, these companies are the "reserve forces" for high-tech, high-growth enterprises. With high-caliber founding teams and clear paths to commercialization, they possess the "DNA" to become future Unicorns, injecting "fresh water" into the ranks of leading innovative enterprises.

Founded in 2021, HydroTransformer is a pioneering hydrogen storage and transport technology company. It was established with the support of Shaanxi Province's "Qinchuangyuan" Innovation Drive Platform, based on over a decade of research from a dedicated scientific team at Xi'an Jiaotong University.
HydroTransformer focuses on the innovation and commercial advancement of Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) technology. The company has built a full-chain platform covering the development of high-density organic hydrogen carriers, the synthesis of high-activity catalysts for hydrogenation and dehydrogenation, the design of efficient storage and release processes, and the manufacturing of advanced equipment. To date, it has accumulated nearly 100 key patents.
The company's Phase I plant in Binzhou is already in operation. With an annual production capacity of 1,000 tons of organic liquid hydrogen storage materials and supporting catalysts, HydroTransformer can meet the diverse needs of customers across the storage, transport, and supply phases of the hydrogen value chain, providing strong support for the large-scale commercial use of LOHC technology.
HydroTransformer has secured hundreds of millions of yuan in investment from prestigious institutions, including Sequoia China, REFIRE Group, and Guozhong Capital. Moving forward, the company will continue to work with its partners to build a new global landscape for safe, efficient, and low-cost hydrogen supply.
