On September 29, 2025, the award ceremony for the 4th Shaanxi Province Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition & Returned Overseas Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was successfully held in the Xi'an High-tech Zone under the theme "Gathering Intelligence in Shaanxi, Creating the Future Together." As the highest-level, largest-scale, and most comprehensive event for high-level young talents—specifically postdoctors and overseas returnees—in Shaanxi, the competition aims to attract talent, pool wisdom, and catalyze innovation to accelerate the integrated development of education, technology, and talent.
Gong Xiang, Vice Director of the Technical Committee at HydroTransformer and an Assistant Professor (Postdoctoral Fellow) at the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology at Xi'an Jiaotong University, stood out among over a thousand contestants to claim the Gold Award.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the implementation of the postdoctoral system in China. As a province rich in educational and scientific resources, Shaanxi has continuously optimized the development environment for postdoctoral talent, establishing 445 postdoctoral research mobile stations, workstations, and innovation bases. With over 15,000 post-doctors trained to date, the province has built a massive talent pool for sci-tech enterprises. Leveraging Shaanxi's "Three Reforms" (Three-item Reform) policies for the transformation of scientific achievements, HydroTransformer has built a multi-disciplinary team centered on the "Deep Integration of Industry, University, and Research." This approach ensures highly efficient synergy between innovative R&D and the commercialization of Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) technology.
During the ceremony, a departure event was also held for the Shaanxi delegation heading to the 3rd National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Cai Zhaoli, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, presented flags to the Shaanxi provincial team and the Xi'an Jiaotong University team. He encouraged all participants to maintain their passion and composure, showcase the high standards of Shaanxi's youth, and demonstrate the powerful momentum of technological innovation on the national stage.
